The Old Flesh of Nuraga: All Endings Guide
Complete the story in order, collect each relic, unlock the story achievements, and use the four decision routes below to reach every ending. Digging rewards follow a fixed story sequence, so the safest path is to perform each conversation and placement before digging again.
The key missables are the peeled potato for the merchant in Chapter 2, the Fine response after returning Jolao’s mark, and eating the first bowl yourself in Chapter 12. Chapter Select can recover the two Chapter 1 soup choices and return you to earlier branches.
Spoiler warning: This walkthrough reveals major story events, character identities, and the requirements for all four endings.
Chapter Select bug
At the time of writing, Chapter Select can cause an excavated item to be discarded. If that happens, load the target chapter, return to the main menu, and choose Continue. The expected item should then appear.
Excavated objects come in a fixed order tied to story progress. The digging location can vary, but conversations and other actions may advance that order. Follow the steps before digging for the next object.
Chapter 1: The Beginning
- Examine the dead bull, then speak with Grandpa.
- Receive the Divining Bell. It appears automatically when you approach a place where you can dig.
- Excavate the potato, take it to Grandpa for peeling, and cook it in the pot.
- Speak with Grandpa and choose who receives the soup. Return through Chapter Select later for the other choice.
- Dig up the flute and deliver it to Grandpa.
- After the flute conversation, excavate the Icon of Tor. Take the icon to Grandpa, then put it on the altar.
- Pray to Tor.
| Achievement | Required action |
|---|---|
| Nuraga Detector | Obtain the Divining Bell from Grandpa. |
| Sharing is Caring | Hand the soup to Grandpa. |
| Full Belly | Eat the soup yourself. |
| Amateur Restorer | Set the first relic on its proper place. |
| Tor believer | Use the small altar to pray to Tor. |
Chapter 2: The Torso
- Dig up the torso and show it to Grandpa.
- Inspect the crypt door, then tell Grandpa what you found. He opens the way with the flute.
- Enter the crypt and attach the torso.
The next achievement is missable. After reporting back, a woman arrives. Do not speak to her yet. Dig first to receive another potato, ask Grandpa to peel it, and leave it uncooked. Give that peeled potato to the woman. You can then continue the conversation and accept her deal.
Continue excavating in this order: find the hammer and set it on the altar beside Grandpa; find the red gem and sell it to the merchant; find the Amun Taduras Amulet, show it to Grandpa, and place it in the marked location inside the central building. The next dig produces the green gem.
| Achievement | Required action |
|---|---|
| Tor So | Install the torso in the crypt. |
| Raw Manners | Offer the woman a peeled potato that has not been cooked. |
| Strictly Business | Accept the merchant’s arrangement after meeting her. |
Chapter 3: The Second Gem
If you enter through Chapter Select, the green gem should already be in your inventory. At this point, the merchant offers a way to leave regardless of how much money you have.
Ending 1/4: Escape Ending
| Choice | Result |
|---|---|
| Leave with the merchant | Reach the Escape Ending. |
| Refuse her offer | Continue the main route. Select The Second Gem from Chapter Select if needed. |
Chapter 4: The Heart
- Excavate the heart and show it to Grandpa.
- Return to the crypt and insert the heart into the torso, then report back.
- Dig up the banner. Show it to Grandpa and mount it beside the campfire.
- Excavate the sword and present it to Grandpa.
- Walk left from Grandpa, cross the sand dune, and place the sword in its marked position.
| Achievement | Required action |
|---|---|
| Dishonest Hearts | Put the heart into the body in the crypt. |
Chapter 5: The Legs
- Dig up the legs, show them to Grandpa, and attach them to the mummy in the crypt.
- Find Grandpa in the central building. Enter from the crypt side and check between the walls on the right.
- Speak with him, then excavate the Avatar of Bho Bhott.
- Place the Avatar of Bho Bhott in the large room beside Grandpa. This completes that floor.
- Dig up the Arms of Jolao and attach them to the horned statue near camp. They do not belong in the crypt.
| Achievement | Required action |
|---|---|
| Run Girl Run | Add the legs to the mummy. |
Chapter 6: The Head
Dig until you uncover the head. Inspect the locked crypt door, return to Grandpa for access, and then place the head on the mummy to complete the body. Find Grandpa afterward and speak to the figure you encounter.
| Achievement | Required action |
|---|---|
| Back in Black | Finish assembling the corpse. |
| The Ancient Times | Speak to the figure found after completing the corpse. |
Chapter 7: Barax
Dig once for the scare, then dig again to uncover Barax. Bring Barax to Grandpa before setting it in its assigned spot. Speak to it to receive the first seal, present that seal to Sadur, then dig again for another scare.
| Achievement | Required action |
|---|---|
| I Am a Rock | Summon the ancient Nuri through the Barax sequence. |
Chapter 8: Daughters of Jana
Excavate the Eye of Jana and show it to Sadur. Go upstairs and install the eye, then speak with the witch to receive another seal. Take that seal back to Sadur.
| Achievement | Required action |
|---|---|
| Lost Daughters | Complete the eye placement and summon the witch. |
Chapter 9: Amun Taduras
Dig up the Skull of Amun Taduras and speak with Sadur. When leaving to the right, return the skull to its altar. Dip your head into the black liquid when the prompt appears.
The game with Amun cannot be avoided, and your responses do not change whether it begins. Use this answer sequence:
| Stage | Answer or outcome |
|---|---|
| 1 | Tor |
| Ancient Nuri stage | There is no correct first response. |
| Mother Jana stage | There is no correct first response. |
| Final stage | Amun |
After finishing, you may leave or remain for more dialogue. You now hold the next seal, so show it to Sadur. The following dig triggers another scare.
| Achievement | Required action |
|---|---|
| Daemon Games | Finish the compulsory game with Amun. |
There is no separate Chapter 10 step in this route. Continue directly to Chapter 11: Jolao.
Chapter 11: Jolao
Excavate the Head of Jolao, show it to Sadur, and attach it to the horned statue outside. This completes the relic collection. Take the resulting mark of Jolao to Sadur.
The next response controls a missable interaction:
| Choice | Effect |
|---|---|
Fine | Leaves one final Jolao interaction available. |
After choosing it, go to the location where you previously placed the sword. Jolao has moved there. Speak with him, then return to Sadur.
Sadur gives you his heart. Carry it to the nearby pond and find the three-headed statue. Speak to the statue to exchange the heart for the dagger.
| Achievement | Required action |
|---|---|
| Nuraga Scholar | Place every relic. |
| The Horror The Horror | Meet Jolao again at the sword location. |
| Missing Allies | Bring all of the marks back to Sadur. |
Chapter 12: Facing Tor
Sadur stands near the water looking toward the black sun. Speak with him to enter the next area. Interact with the pot there and cut the potato.
Eat the first bowl yourself before feeding anyone else. Skipping that choice blocks Last Dish, but restarting Chapter 12 lets you try again.
| Achievement | Required action |
|---|---|
| Last Dish | Eat the first serving during the final soup sequence. |
Ending 2/4: Bad Ending
| Choice route | Result |
|---|---|
Serve Grandpa soup until cut wrists appears, then select it. | Reach the Bad Ending. |
Ending 3/4: True Ending
| Choice route | Result |
|---|---|
Ignore cut wrists, then continue serving soup until the option to kill Grandpa appears and choose it. | Reach the True Ending. |
Ending 4/4: Caring Ending
| Choice route | Result |
|---|---|
| Keep serving Grandpa soup without selecting any other action. | Reach the Caring Ending. |
