About GuideLVL
GuideLVL is a small games site. We write walkthroughs, achievement guides, tips and collectible locations for the games people are playing right now, and we keep them readable enough to follow with a controller in your hands.
Who writes the guides
Everything here is published under the site's own name. There is no invented byline and no borrowed credentials: GuideLVL is the author. Behind the name is a small group of people who play the games and write the guides, which is the short version of what you are reading on every page of this site.
How a guide gets written
We play the game. That is where a guide starts: the achievements, the items, the order things actually unlock in, and the parts that turn out to be harder than they look once you are holding the controller.
We also read what the community has already worked out. On a new release the players who got there first are usually the ones who found the solution, and pretending otherwise would be silly. What we do with it is the work: we test it in the game ourselves, drop whatever a patch has broken, and build the parts that still hold into one guide, in the order you would want to do things, with the steps that matter spelled out and the ones that do not left off. You get the answer that works in one place, instead of piecing it together from ten half-finished posts.
Screenshots are there to answer the question a sentence cannot: which door, which corner, which enemy. If an image does not tell you something the text already did, it does not go in.
How they stay current
Games change after release. Patches move things, rename things and sometimes fix the exact bug a guide was built around. So every guide carries a date at the top: the day it was published, updated or last checked against the current build. If that date is old, you know how much salt to take with it. If a guide turns out to be wrong, we would rather correct it than leave it sitting there.
Corrections and contact
Found a step that no longer works, a location that has moved, or a typo that is bothering you as much as it bothers us? Write to [email protected] and tell us which guide it is. The same address works for rights and takedown requests, which we handle promptly.
